Financial Planning Associate
Melissa returned to KHC in June 2013 as a Financial Planning Associate. She is responsible for providing support to the financial planners and wealth management team at KHC. This includes working with clients to complete financial analyses and scenarios, preparing material for client meetings and coordinating with clients to complete actions to help them achieve their goals. Melissa joined KHC in 2005 and worked with clients in a similar role for 3 years before taking a brief endeavor into a high school business teaching career. She pursued a teaching career for four years, with her main focus on teaching financial literacy and establishing a personal finance curriculum as a required course. She then returned to KHC to assist clients in Making Life Count® .
Melissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in family studies and human services from Kansas State University with a specialization in personal financial planning and a minor in business administration. She is an active member in the Financial Planning Association.
Melissa lives in Wichita, Kansas with her husband Craig, a middle school assistant principal and athletic director, and two children, Nelson and Nola. She spends a lot of time with her family, supporting the Maize school district events and traveling all around Kansas for visits. Melissa enjoys running, training for races and reading. Her favorite book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Most evenings you can find Melissa trying (with varying degrees of success) to stash vegetables into the dinners she makes for her picky toddlers.
